On Thursday October 14, during a lunch organized at the Hôtel Hermitage, Laurent Anselmi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received HE Mr. Olivier Rija Rajohnson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Madagascar; HE Ms Liliane Massala, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic; HE Mr. Roberto Balzaretti, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland; and HE Mr. Refik Ali Onaner, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey.
The diplomats presented their credentials to HSH the Sovereign Prince in the morning.
HE Mr. Olivier Rija Rajohnson has worked for almost 40 years in the private sector in various fields (banking, fruit export and tourism). He was permanent advisor to the Prime Minister at the end of the 1980s and was minister of water and forests from 1997 to 2002, then chief of staff to the president from 2011 to 2014. In 2020, he was appointed ambassador and accredited to represent his country. in France and in the Holy See.
HE Ms Liliane Massala has worked to promote Gabon’s economic and social development by founding the Franco-American Academy of Management, the International Institute for Higher Education and Training in Digital Trades and the Christine Bahati Foundation for the Good -being, health and education of women and young people. From 1987 to 2012, she was advisor and deputy chief of staff to the President of the Gabonese Republic, before being appointed secretary general of several ministries between 2012 and 2020. Appointed ambassador in 2020, she is also a permanent representative to the Organization international Francophonie.
HEM Roberto Balzaretti joined the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1991 and held several positions within the Department before being appointed Secretary General in 2008 and then Legal Adviser. At the same time, he headed the Swiss Mission to the European Union from 2012 to 2016 and was appointed Director of European Affairs and coordinator of all negotiations with the EU in 2018.
HE Mr. Refik Ali Onaner worked in various departments and ministries before assuming the role of advisor to the Permanent Representation of Turkey to the United Nations Office at Geneva from 2006 to 2010. He continued his career at the Embassy from Turkey in Paris as an adviser then minister adviser from 2012 to 2017, before returning to Turkey and being appointed chief of staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Ankara. He was accredited as Ambassador to Tunisia in 2019.
