MORONI, September 20, 2021 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Sovereign in the Al Dhafra region and President of the UAE Red Crescent (ERC) telephoned the Red Crescent delegation of the Emirates, which is currently in the capital Moroni, to open several projects led by the philanthropic authority in the Comoros.
By calling Obaid Rahmat Al Balushi, chairman of the ERC delegation and director of the ERC relief and disaster preparedness department, Cheikh Hamdan was reassured about the humanitarian conditions in the Comoros in general.
He was also informed of the development projects open in the country in all fields, including health and education projects during the current visit of the delegation. These projects were initiated under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates.
Cheikh Hamdan asked the delegation to improve the response of the humanitarian and development projects of the ERC in the Comoros and to provide all possible support that would alleviate the suffering and improve the living conditions there.
He said these projects were part of the ongoing humanitarian and development efforts of the UAE and its leadership in Comoros, given the country’s sincere commitment to support the targeted segments there.
He stressed that the UAE spares no effort to meet the development needs of the Comoros, improve the quality of the necessary services in the health, education and social sectors.
He also pointed out that the initiatives of the ERC improve its approach and strategy for sustainability of donations by adopting projects that achieve a global renaissance in vulnerable communities.
